Graham Gilchrist
A-levels: Physics, Maths and Computer Science.
Disliked English – didn’t see the point of writing about things that weren’t relevant.
Degree: Master of Physics –MPhys
Graham has just finished his degree in Physics and is about to start on three years study for a PhD (Doctor of Philosophy). What attracted him to stay on was his final year project.
Graham’s project was called Scanning Near-field Optical Microscopy or SNOM

Students often take summer jobs to earn a bit of extra cash. Graham worked with Dan Hewak at ORC last summer but he wasn’t doing research. Instead he was working in ‘publicity’ describing the research to a wide range of people.
